Wishing Upon That Star ~ 1 May 2012

As astrologers or fans of astrology, most of us are aware that the “star” most people wish upon is actually most commonly Venus, and sometimes Jupiter. With Venus very near the Earth as she approaches her transit of the Sun, her post sunset brilliance no doubt receives an increased load of wishes.

There’s a funny thing about wishing. Without substance behind it, or at least bucket loads of intention, the results of casting a wish upon the canopy of the heavens often produces thin results at best. Having recently been with a group of vastly talented individuals all of whom have busted their chops to manifest the results of their creative yearnings - product - the importance of the upcoming Venus transit stands out brighter in my mind than she does in the sky. So, following are my tidbits and tips of Venus applications that everyone can apply in their life, regardless of the perception one holds of intrinsic creative attributes.

But first, Virgo Moon alert. As a rule I try to send my posts in times other than when the Moon is in Virgo. The dates that follow may not match your calendar date, depending upon where in the world you are. And when posts go out with the Moon in Virgo, the queue of comments about any “incorrect” detail runs around the cosmic block. As well, with the Moon, Mars, Makemake (a dwarf planet), Orcus (maybe a dwarf planet), Logos (Kuiper Belt Object) and Elatus (a centaur) all in Virgo, and with multiple notable Kuiper Belt, Centaurs and planets in Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces, the edge in the air at present seems palpable. Challenges and confrontations are but an assumption based upon an invalid summary of real time data away. That’s right. With Venus and Mars both ranging in mutable signs and when Jupiter soon joins the mutable mix, times when the Moon transits Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces are great times to step back from impulse reactions and impetuous or impertinent behaviors. Should things not match up with your version of correct, right or divinely inspired, take a few seconds before sounding the alarm for battle stations.

Anyway, back to our favorite wishing star, Venus. Perhaps you’ve heard of the Venus transit occurring next month. This is a rare eclipse-emulating pattern of the second planet with the Sun. Rare means that this pattern happens in intervals of 121.5 years, 8 years, 105.5 years and then again 8 years before repeating. Every time this pattern happens Venus will be retrograde. Of the planets in our solar system, Venus is the least likely planet to be retrograde. As well, Venus sashays around the Sun in the roundest of all orbits, barely nudging out Neptune in that category.

The influence of the Venus transit began around April 11th as she reached the shadow of her retrograde - the degree to which she will return in retrograde during the upcoming reversal of motion. This signals increased collective attention and concern to matters of Venus: social, economic, material, creative and feminine matters. Those who defy a progressive path for the manifestation of what Venus has in mind... well, they’ll find out how she reacts and works later. Suffice it to say, Venus wants her due.

On a personal level, should a person fret about her/his current economic status. Venus suggests that perhaps the creative resources within, whether recognized or not, should be manifested by the complainant. She might suggest keeping your day job as you go, just to ensure that a creative aspirant does not impose unwitting and unnecessary fiscal hardship as the aspired path is pursued. Has the creative awakening occurred for you, yet? It is out there.

What if you haven’t found it and cannot locate it as you read this Sky Scraping post? Not to worry. As Venus commences her retrograde motion on May 15th a review of ideas that have circulating for quite some time can more effectively occur and lead to productive nurturing of previously seeded ideas. A more specific definition of quite some time would be to reach back to October of 2010, when Venus retrograded in Scorpio, stirring deep passions about projects, innovations and creative pursuits. As the next fortnight following Venus’s turn to the rear passes, Mercury and Venus come together on the first day of June, inspiring clearer articulation and demanding development of plans.

When Venus works up to the exact alignment with the Sun on June 6th, it’s time to define your shimmering nugget of brilliant creativity to give it the push to the next level. Definition could be writing it down, posting a new website, writing a concept paper, creating a business plan or shouting about it from the rooftops - assuming proper intellectual property protection occurred first. This is not a paranoid declaration; there are boatloads of idea pirate sailing the seas of creative declarations. However, with a protected project, though Venus is retrograde, today and today only, a push forward or a start can occur.

If you don’t hit this marker, wait. The wait is not long... only until June 27th. At that point Venus returns to normal, prograde motion, leading to the final clearance of her retrograde shadow zone on the back end of the cycle on July 27.

Of course, during Venus retrograde the grand and glorious Jupiter joins Venus in Gemini with promise and hope for all ideas, founded, formulated or still swirling in the ethers. His enthusiasm could cause a person subject to his fervor to jet forward without completion of a full checklist. Such a surge can be an idea deal breaker. Be ready and fully prepared... really, totally, thoroughly prepared. You might only get one shot at the person who can work with you to manifest the fullest potential of your dream.

Soon after Jupiter enters Gemini, he will square dwarf planet 225088, Neptune and Chiron. As well, he will promptly square Orcus. That unnamed planet 225088 adds a curious component to the octane. This planet asks if new ideas fit with cultural archetypes, collective mythologies and works to fulfill the expectations of the fairy tales one holds in her/his mind. If not, this planet advises that the need to clear the mental debris field ahead such that a new archetype can be planted, presents an imperative step one.

Yes, the vision of Neptune dangles like a carrot of consciousness ahead. Many will need a road map for shifting from the road currently traveled to this other pathway, even though the allure is most promising. While the will may be in place, the how could be lacking. Orcus reminds us all that if you allege you’ll get onboard, others expect you to fulfill that promise. With Jupiter involved, tolerance is low for those you promise and fail to comply in a most immediate manner. If you promise to play, suit up. Now. Given Chiron, the end result of all this, soothes and heals long term aches of the soul that sense a lack of fulfillment of ones greatest potential. Regrets fade into once held fears. Roadblocks to creative application are swiftly circumvented.

Following these surges, two personal planet pushes follow, adding the often illusive element of viability in the real world. The first of these comes to pass on June 27th as Mars aligns with the dwarf planet Makemake. Polishing up this venture, Venus squares Makemake on August 4th. Makemake adds a most interesting application to the effort of manifesting brilliance. His influence inspires a person to apply an appropriate level of PR and hype to their innovations - whether conceptual or product based - such that the world recognizes the offering and subsequently becomes a better place. Often, those who believe in reincarnation are motivated by Makemake to do something great now, such that any future Earth-based incarnation selected will be better.

Given the surge over the next months with the above planetary suggestions, progress in creative matters is possible, maybe even likely. But, creative projects take time. There are the delays of publication, production and promulgation. Still, the momentum wheels are turning. Those patient and perseverant just might see the results of their efforts come to fruition maybe as soon as mid June of 2013 as Jupiter, still in Gemini, comes to a square with the materialization rewarding Makemake.

While you’re at it, remember to check out Venus as she sets over the next days. Intend, wish and create.
